Advancing Teaching, Research, and
Creative Endeavors
|
Welcome from the Director
Welcome to the home pages of the
Center for Teaching, Learning and Academic Support. Here you will find
convenient links to innovative programs, services, and activities
coordinated by our dedicated faculty and staff.
|
Created in 2001 by the merger of the Center for Teaching and Learning (a Title
III-funded activity) and the Division of Learning Support (a developmental
education program), the Center has become one of the most important and popular
entities on campus. Innovative and enterprising faculty visit the Center
to seek support for online education. |
Faculty also frequent the Center for
assistance with manuscripts for publication and grant proposals. Both faculty
and professional staff come for assistance with web pages and graphic design.
Students come to seek assistance with essays, research papers, and math and
math-related assignments. Students also come to the Center for academic
advisement and counseling. |
 |
Our
Mission is to enhance both faculty
development and undergraduate and graduate education. We have taken a leadership
role in promoting instructional innovations and Classroom Research to improve
teaching and student learning outcomes.
|
Our
Goals & Objectives
are to promote teaching and learning in synchronous and asynchronous learning
environments to accommodate diverse learners with a variety of needs. In short,
our Philosophy celebrates the scholarship of teaching and learning.
