Teaching Portfolio The teaching portfolio is a factual description of an instructor's teaching strengths and professional accomplishments. It includes documents and materials which substantiate the scope and quality of an instructor's teaching. The teaching portfolio allows an instructor to reflect on his/her teaching in order to improve student learning as well as to document teaching effectiveness for personnel decisions regarding tenure, promotion, and post-tenure. Though each instructor's portfolio may vary according to individual differences, each portfolio should contain some stock commonalities. For information on those commonalities, refer to the The Teaching Portfolio (Second Edition) by Peter Seldin. Copies are available in the Faculty Resource Library, located in Whiting 249.
For consultation on developing your teaching portfolio, call Professor Rosalind Kent(353-3118) or email her kentr@savstate.edu. | ||
