writing and reading skills. The lab can help
students prepare for the Regent’s Test, assist students

Career Development Services
provides a wide variety of services to students
including career counseling, vocational assessment,
résumé-building assistance, job placement, and career

SPECIAL PROGRAMS |
|
Navy
ROTC
students can prepare for commissioned service as regular
or reserve officers in the Navy or Marine Corps,
commensurate with earning their degree. Programs
constitute academic minor in naval science. Contact

OFFICE OF STUDENT SUCCESS & RETENTION |

This
office is a resource to promote student persistence and
retention, particularly during the freshman and
sophomore years where attrition is greatest nationwide.
The office offers holistic academic advisement, a
mentoring program, and the freshman year experience

CENTER FOR LEADERSHIP & CHARACTER DEVELOPMENT |

The
Center for Leadership and Character Development is a
laboratory for the study and contemplation of leadership
development. The hearthstone of the Centers' vision is
the focus on preparing students to become principled
students and citizens. Through its programs and
services, the Center seeks to help the University not
merely graduate students prepared for the complex world,
but graduate leaders prepared to change the complex

COUNSELING AND DISABILITY SERVICES |

The
Office of Counseling and Disability Services provides
two main types of services: Professional Counseling and
Disability Services.
Professional Counseling
addresses students’ needs related to social and
emotional issues that may be affecting their day to day
functioning, grades and stable school life.
Disability Services
is committed to providing an equal educational
opportunity for all qualified students with disabilities
(permanent or temporary) which are physical or mental.
Accommodations are academic adaptations that do not
compromise academic standards or the mastery of
essential course elements, but provide students with
disabilities, an equal opportunity to succeed.
Accommodations provide equal access to facilities and
information regarding test accommodations, course
accommodations, and system accommodations.
